"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2014"

Week 16 :: This weeks portrait was late because we were so busy finding chocolate eggs in Hezzie and Poppy's garden, exploring markets and lounging by the river. Our traditional Eater break in Bellingen was cut short this year but you still enjoyed the few days we managed to steal away.

Week 17 :: You are turning into a little girl before our very eyes.

"Mumma I jest take a your picca, click click"... I think my love of photography may have rubbed off on you. You wear your camera around your neck taking 'pictures' of any obliging subject (mostly bugs and your toys).

"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2014"

You have found a new favourite place to play... Ever since the addition of your first bed you can often be found perched high amongst the sheets, playing by the window sill. You tell us stories of the "buggies" that live outside in the "fowers" and read your books to any toy who will listen.

This week we started a reading program at our local library, given your love of books I had a feeling it might be a hit. We arrived at the library and you found a small ledge to sit on, I watched as you eagerly waited for your friend before going inside.

Watching the world go by on "Cairns" the steam locomotive... There is a Railway Museum just minutes from our front door that opens once a month to share all the delights of yesteryear. Embarrassingly we have never actually visited the museum, so last weekend when your best friend Ellie called to invite us for a picnic and ride on the trains we popped on our locomotive best and enjoyed a wonderful day of fun and education.

On the days we are at home and your Dadda works day shift we wonder out the front in the early evening and wait for him to arrive home. You potter around the yard and collect a plethora of natures best to present to him the minute he walks down the front path. Your collection generally includes (but is not limited to) a few fallen flowers, some pebbles, a stick or two and a few dead insects...

Documenting Audrey | Sleep

A creased hand wedged under her hip. Tiny toes pressed against the pillow. Legs splayed. Her wild hair falling softly over her face, framing those incredible lashes. I listen as she breathes in and out and I take her in, all of her.

With my belly growing rounder and butterfly sensations turning into swift kicks I am reminded that in a few short months we will be a family of four. With this in mind I have started a little project for my first baby, our Frog. I want to remember her, the every day her, the things that somehow get missed in all the baby books and journals. Over the coming months I will document the little parts of her day that are so special at this age with a few photos and words, the first is sleep...
