"A portrait of Audrey, once a week, every week, in 2013"

Hide and seek has become a favourite game of yours. I love seeing the joy in your eye when we discover your (not so secret) hiding place.

My heart went out to the beautiful Bella from Sea and Salt, I prayed for her to heal and get back to her beloved sea.

"A portrait of Audrey, once a week, every week, in 2013"

One day this week you decided it was completely unacceptable to wear clothes. You stripped yourself bare, grabbed your snuggle and chu chu and put yourself to bed. As the sunny breeze streamed in our window I watched you sleep and tears fell down my face... You amaze me.

This beautiful babe in Newfoundland.

Windy Day Delight.

The wind blows with fury outside our windows, August has arrived. As the sun shines our babe looks at me with confusion, it appears like a beautiful day but we are not outside enjoying it...

A recent diagnosis of asthma has explained months of reoccurring colds and coughs but it has also made us more aware of the conditions we take our Frog out in. With Luke suffering chronic asthma I have had first hand experience at what the wind can do to an asthmatic, especially with all that pollen floating about. To ease Audrey's boredom I decided it might be fun to have a picnic in her room. We prepared our lunch together and set it out on a rug on her bedroom floor. I watched as she fed and talked with each one of her dolls and treated them to a story, the smile on her face confirmation my idea had been a success.

Pepita Seeds and Rose Tea

Our kitchen, although small, is one of my favourite rooms in our home. It is here, with great love, that I prepare nutritious meals and treats for my family. I relish in the tastes and the smells and find delight in watching my creations come to life and devoured with smiles.
When I received an email from a friend the other day with the recipe for Pumpkin and Pepita Bread I knew it would make the perfect afternoon treat for Frog and I.

Pumpkin & Pepita Bread
1 carrot peeled and grated
1/2 butternut pumpkin
2 cups wholemeal self raising flour
1 tsp bicarb soda
1 tbsp mixed spice
2 eggs
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 milk
50g butter (we used coconut oil)
2-3 tbsp pepitas

Preheat oven to 180'C. Line a loaf tin with baking paper. cut pumpkin into large chunks and steam until soft. Place in bowl and mash with fork until smooth. Set 1 cup of mashed pumpkin aside to cool. Place flour, bicarb and mixed spice in a large bowl and make a well in the centre. In a separate bowl whisk eggs, maple syrup, milk and melted butter. Pour into flour, add pumpkin and carrot and stir to combine. Pour into lined tine, sprinkle with pepitas and bake for 60 minutes or until skewer comes out clean. Stand for 10 minutes, remove from tin and set aside to cool. Cut into thick slices and serve as is or with spread of choice.
* we enjoyed our bread with lashings of butter and cinnamon and rose tea.

Sometimes you just lay under the coffee table and watch the world go by for no reason whatsoever. I love your care free nature...

Brandy's children in the sun reminds me summer is just around the corner.

Magic In The Mundane.

The everyday doesn't have to be boring...
Attending 'The Creatives' made me look at our life with different eyes and appreciate our world. We are finding and remembering the beauty in our everyday...

The breakfast of champions.. Yoghurt, stewed fruit and puffed kamut.
Collecting herbs from the garden for tea and spilling or eating most of them on her way to the kitchen.
A two hour trip to the accountants meant many books and snacks. Our accountant was lucky enough to receive a high 5 from Frog as we walked out the door!
Fruit & veg shopping.
Little hands reaching for mushrooms.
Neglected lavender at our front door.
Bedtime requires a story and a doll.
If she is quiet you can generally find her here.
Freshly baked banana and walnut loaf.
Pjs, a rusty tap and a determined toddler.
Off to the shops, hand in hand.
