Nature Walks

Can you hear the ducks? Look Audrey, the trees are moving in the wind. Can you feel the rain on your skin? Would you like to smell the flowers? Feel the squishy mud in your hands.

A few months ago I was introduced to Meagan from Whole Family Rhythms and her daily rhythms. Meagan's daily rhythms are a series of seasonal guides created and designed to help achieve greater peace, calm and rhythm in your home. The rhythms have encouraged and eased our family into a wonderful routine, we are more aware of our surroundings, we take the time to appreciate the meals laid before us and we have learnt about the importance of recognising change in the world we live in. One of our favourite parts of the week is our "weekly bush walk" or as we call it, our nature walk. The weather this week has been miserable and two of us have runny noses but we decided to rug up and head out the door anyway. The fresh air invigorated our senses and left us feeling energised, it was the perfect remedy to lift our spirits on this wintery day.

  1. That little bonnet is just too much! I know how you feel, we braved the weather and headed bush also - there was lots of squishy mud between our fingers too, as we filled our baskets with kindling! You captured some lovely moments between a daddy & her littlie xx

    1. Isn't it? I think she need one or too more as it is one of the only hats she will leave on for more then an hour. Before having Audrey I never appreciated the seasons, they simply came and went. Now I love watching the change around us, feeling the air cool and the leaves drop. The squishy mud was a little dangerous with her cream jumper but it was nothing an overnight soak couldn't solve. Your weekend looked amazing, you are so lucky to have a beautiful place to escape to so close. Wishing you a warm and wonderful week x

    1. Oh thank you Max, it really was wonderful. Meagan has really thought of everything. Her guides include a suggested daily rhythm, craft guides, stories, meditation and a special guide for carers. We started buying month by month but now we buy the whole season as it saves us a bit of money. I hope you have a wonderful week. x

    1. Thank you Sarah. Our days have become just that, soft and gentle so I love that you can see it in my images. Children bring with them a knowledge of how life should be, it took me a long time to realise that but now I have life is so much easier. Wishing you a wonderful week x
